Merry Hanukkah from the White House

by Greg on November 26, 2008

The NY Post got a hold of one of the invitations for this year’s Hanukkah reception at the White House.  Looks like someone got their religions mixed up.

Hanukkah, Bush?

Hanukkah, Bush?

Seems it was an accident:

When reached for comment, Laura Bush’s spokeswoman, Sally McDonough, said the White House usually prints separate cards, but in the waning days of the presidency, there had been an oversight.

“Mrs. Bush is apologetic,” she said. “It is something that just slipped through the cracks.”

Oops!

Hmm. I picture the situation going like this:

Staffer: “Mrs. Bush, the Hannukah Cards have a Christmas Tree on them. I am not sure that is appropriate.”

Laura Bush: “Oh screw it. We are almost finished with this stupid job anyway.”
