A few weeks back, I taped an interview with Sheila Kast, host of Maryland Morning, which airs on WYPR, Baltimore’s local NPR affiliate. The subject of the conversation was consumer-facing web startups, with a focus on what it takes to take an idea and build it into a business. I was joined by Clarence Wootten, a native of Baltimore and successful technology entrepreneur. Clarence is the CEO of CollectiveX, which offers a product called group sites that foster communication and collaboration online. Clarence is super-smart and offered a much different (and probably better) perspective on entrepreneurship than I did, based on his business background (vs. my technical background).
